Therapy for meaningful and lasting change.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IN MARIN
and across California

Emily Collette, Psy.D.

Supervising Psychologist

Welcome! I am a licensed psychologist practicing in-person in Marin, and virtually throughout California. I provide individual psychotherapy to adults, with a special interest in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. I invite you to contact me to schedule a phone consultation and to ask any questions you may have.

Michelle Rudin, M.A.

Psychological Associate

Working under the supervision of Dr. Collette, I provide therapy to adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and the impact of trauma. I strive to create a warm and supportive space where you can deepen self-understanding, build self-compassion and emotional resilience, and move toward meaningful change. I am currently completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at The Wright Institute in Berkeley.

Therapeutic Services

With a well-trained clinician, psychotherapy provides opportunities for clarity, movement, and growth. It can be a source of insight and self-understanding, bringing energy to what’s long been stuck. It can also be a process that’s painful, through which old wounds surface and unsettling truths come into focus. The power of psychotherapy is in the relational experience of two people together. Within a context of deep understanding, built trust, and respect, its impact can be profound.

I work with individuals to address relationship problems, experiences of trauma, and mood concerns like anxiety and depression. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and informed by contemporary psychodynamic thinking. I find this work deeply fulfilling.

  • Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed and untethered. With a personalized and in-depth approach, I help them understand and address their concerns so that they can experience greater meaning, fulfillment, and choice in their lives and relationships. Some common issues I work with are:

    • Depression and dissociation

    • Pervasive feelings of dissatisfaction

    • Anxiety

    • Dating and relationship concerns

    • Low self-worth

    • Family stress (including family-of-origin and parent-child issues)

  • In our work together, I will help you understand and address the immediate issues affecting your mood, while also examining the underlying factors that impact you. I treat individuals with a broad range of concerns, including:

    • Anxiety and perfectionism

    • Feelings of hopelessness and depression

    • Dissociation

    • Anger and emotional reactivity

    • Pervasive feelings of dissatisfaction or of feeling “stuck”

  • Psychotherapy is a unique and often profound process, offering a different way to explore the impact of relationships – both current and early life – on one’s sense of self and wellbeing. I provide therapy for a wide range of relational concerns, including:

    • Family-of-origin issues (including parent-child concerns)

    • Repeated unsatisfying relationships

    • Fears related to intimacy and closeness

    • Substance use/dependency in a partner, parent, or child

    • Loss of relationship (divorce, break ups, death of a loved one)

  • Early adulthood is often a time of significant growth, exploration, and self-discovery. It can also be a time fraught with pain, isolation, and relational difficulties. I hold a special interest in working with individuals in this stage of life, and work with issues including:

    • Identity and belonging

    • Demands of college and early career

    • Relationships, sex, and intimacy

    • Body-related concerns

    • Alcohol and substance use

    • Family-of-origin concerns
